Children's Ministry at Community Christian Church

Community Christian offers three classes for grade-school age children utilizing the LIVE B.I.G. curriculum where children can see, hear and live their Belief In God. Classes are designated by the following age groups as to customize lessons based on skill level while creating lasting peer friendships.

• Preschool: Ages 3-K
• Early Grade school: Grades 1-3
• Junior Youth Fellowship: Grades 4-6

Study, Fellowship & Fun

The LIVE B.I.G. Curriculum is built on these truths.

1. God is a great BIG God!
• God is always with us, and we can trust God. We praise and worship God
2. God loves us with a great BIG love!
• God loves us unconditionally, and God changes us through God's love. We can love God and follow Jesus because he shows us how much God loves us

Each week children are invited into the class through games or exercises based on that month's B.I.G. Theme which is support through a monthly scripture verse. Then the class is invited into the Bible Story through scripture and then following each week's Bible Story, children are encourage to bring the theme, scripture and lesson into our everyday lives through real life examples. Examples are shared through personal stories or a short video segment, all designed to bring faith-filled, high-energy's excitement to your children lives.

Our children's classes meet every Sunday @11:00am, immediately following the Children's Sermon in the Activities Center on the Second Floor.

Acolyte Program

We are pleased to announce that new enhancements of educa- tion, inspiration, and preparation will be added to Community's Acolyte program, beginning on May 5, 2012 at 10 AM.

Community's Acolyte program involves younger children, approximately ages 5-11, in lighting the Lord's Table candles each Sunday during our 10:45AM worship services in the sanctuary. Over the course of the next eight months, under the coordina- tion of Sonja Shaffer and Dr. Hill, there will be four acolyte training sessions for the children to rehearse their responsibilities and to learn more about the rich and deep meanings of the various elements of worship. The first session will be held on May 5, with the following dates to be determined.

After regular participation on Sunday mornings and attendance at the Acolyte training sessions, there will be an "Acolyte Banana Split Celebration" in the month of December! If you would like your child to be a part of this exciting learning program, please call the church office, 816-561-6531.
